Message from the President

Good Day Clown Units,

I am honored to serve you as President of the South Atlantic Shrine Clown Association. I would like for you to know that I am always welcome to ideas or comments and I will include my contact information at the bottom of the letter. I would like to work on 2 things; Membership and Fundraising.

On the Membership side, I would like to ask each of you to try and bring in at least one new clown this year. If we could to that, we could grow exponentially. Imagine what your Unit could do with double the members, and then think about the impact on SASCA. As you are aware SASA was cancelled this year, we have moved all Officers up one position and will have 2 openings, Sgt. At Arms, and 4th Vice President. We will have the election for these offices at our Spring  Meeting in Gatlinburg March 9th thru 11th 2018  The South Eastern Shrine Clown Association is having a competition open to all shrine clowns at that time and has agreed to provide us a meeting space, please plan to attend, compete and support both SESCA and SASCA. It is very important to attend if you plan on running for either of the open offices. The SASCA fall Session  will be located at the Sea Mist Resort Convention Center located on Ocean Bvld. and 12th Ave. South, September 20th thru September 22nd  Registration will begin around 1 on Thursday, competition on Friday with the awards Banquet that night.

On the Fundraiser side, I am chairing a Raffle, the Prize is 500.00 and will be drawn in September 2018.  This Raffle will support SASCA, and I understand that each of you have your own fundraisers and assist your Mother Temple in its efforts to fundraise, and as an incentive the Unit that sells the Winning Ticket will receive 100.00. Having a year to sell, gives you the ability to sell when it’s convenient for your Unit. I currently have 2000 ticket that will be distributed to the Units in SASCA, I can and will order more and send if needed. I ask that that the Stubs and Money be mailed back to me throughout the year or delivered to a SASCA meeting. I will work with the Treasurer for the deposits and I have a secure location that Stubs will be stored until I deliver them to SASCA 2018 for the drawing.  Please let me know if you wish to participate and for me to mail the tickets to you or if you want to pick them up at SASCA.  Thank you for your support and the job you do bringing awareness to the Shrine Hospitals by Clowning.
